skipping stones across the great unknown
[Current Music |Locomotion - John Coltrane]

tonight will be the longest night of the year so
i'll shed a little light and jot a word or two

i have been up and down and around the corner
drawing, stitching, music and nina s. have been
saving me and keeping me on track

i have been really well and learning so
the past few weeks i have been very hermit
but with the bitter cold and the small
promises of snow adventure feels like it will
lend itself to me...winter is the time

i went on a little trip last weekend with one of our
people to cambridge, england for a family wedding
it was lovely and high class mixed with kilted-men
and the scot's drinking-style forgetting the glass and
walking around with two bottles in each hand
it was a highlight and i met many good folks
leaving anywhere is a healing power
i enjoy travel beyond a care

i have become mutual friends with the pesty little scratching
mean cat in my house
i gave her food and got her to like being touched again
and now she won't leave me alone and she follows me wherever i go
she barks and sleeps on my bed
i never thought i would have a true live-cat friend
and i know you, a-hole would approve...

all the best then, my dears, till next time
cheers.

fall [Oct. 26th, 2006|06:53 pm]

[Current Music |chapter4 - Jonas H.]

hello planet...

it's been a long time, long time
i have come to realize that.
i am well, living in Scotters enjoying the crazy wind storms
off the north sea and the fun of being young.
for the past weeks i have been hermit-like and stitching many
little things in my room along with charlie parker.
i have visitors some times to watch spanish films.
i was sadly disapointed in ''bad education''
one of the latest almodovar films.
not enough things to wrap your mind around and i figured out
all the whack tranny shit early on, no suspense at all
just heroin and loser drag druggies.
next time pedro, make a show!
it even had gael garcia bernal and he wasn't even acting.
i did see ''the king'' this trippy film and he is amazing and beautiful.
i recommend it highly.
i sometimes go out even though i'm going dry with the alkie
and not really into that at the moment.
last night i enjoyed a rendesvouz to the compost heap
in the pouring rain with a friend and some illegal.
later i cooked a meal and cleaned up his home.
i enjoy being a care-giver.
my days are long and full of patience.
i do like living here, the work is good and it's nice to have some purpose.
drop me a line loves and cheers.
love,
k.

scottie over and out [Sep. 10th, 2006|04:35 pm]
skipping stones across the great unknown
[Current Music |Blumentopf]

hiho out of scotland
i am here now, outside of aberdeen
the herion capital of europe
the city of grey buildings and men in kilts
it is actually quite beautiful here
near the ocean and its breezes
farmland and rolling foothills up to the highlands
little huts in all the fields
holding up winding stone fences
that snake along the ground
the scotts are crackers and really wild party people
they drink like nothing else and they really don't care
i think it's some weird northern thing and being thrown on
an island and all, i've never witnessed this kind of wild

camphill life is a rhythm and getting up early
i bake bread from early in the morning till noon
300 loaves a day
i lift heavy ass trays and am growing muscles
i burn my arms on them and look like a junkie
the afternoons i work in a craft studio
make whatever the whim i wish
i'm carving a harp and soon puppet heads, hands, feet
the people i work with are way chill and our tea time
lasts sometimes an hour or more
they really do love their tea here, every thing is planned
around tea

i have made friends with some danes, germans and others
we as co-workers have our own shed to drink and party in
it's quiet nice with murals on the walls
or else we go to the pub right outside the village in bieldside
for pints and pool
they love their pool here and golf
i don't think i'll get into golf and that whole caddie thang'
i am well and happy here and i love what i am doing
i miss people and you but i still can love from afar

hope you are all well
drop a line when the moments right
i'll be here for a year so you'll know where to find me
cheers

[Current Music |Riders On The Storm - The Doors]

grüsse aus deutschland

my time has been filled with many things
mostly sleep, alcoholic cocktails, lettuce
germany is well, wet and drab, but well

i've been drawing again which is good
only late at night with the right light
birds have become a theme

i have four bags to my name
stuffed with clothing and my
virgin mary icons and frida photos

the things really needed in life along with
a few dear books, a needle, some bright thread
and an open jar for adventure

i will have a real postal address soon
for your writing pleasures
and mine, i'm ready for a mail marathon

crossing the big blue [Aug. 2nd, 2006|10:30 am]
skipping stones across the great unknown
[Current Music |road to nowhere - the talking heads]

my last 4 and 1 half hours here
i still have to re-do/finish my mosaic,
cook, find some last treasures
i feel weird and baked

i did well this time around and was packed
yesterday, a huge difference from departing for Paris
where KE and i did our Eugene Lang application,
a math mainlesson book and packed in the few short
hours before we were supposed to leave
this is luxury

i will be in german-land for the first few weeks
but once i get to Scotland i will inform of # and
address
i can't wait to write real post again...
ciao loves, take care.
love,
katter
